I don't invent the themes for my statuettes; I find them in the street.
Walking or cycling through the city I suddenly see people in a situation that strikes me.
In my studio I then try to translate this situation into clay.
I am fascinated by the anonymity of the human being in the city, where he is no more than part of a mass and always surrounded by buildings and traffic.
E.g. a pedestrian by a zebra crossing is a motiv which did not exist in the past. Nor did people standing or walking on a escalator, or standing under a shelter.
These new data also ask for a new form language.
The finding and application of this language is an everlasting challenge.
